This is especially interesting in the context of Arthur Goldstuck’s presentation at Highway Africa on the “experience curve” (how many SA web users have been online for longer than 5 years) and how this influences the way they use the web. The confluence of experience and experiment was startling although not surprising, especially in the context of online retail and banking. Like he said, the next 5 years are likely to be even more interesting.
Btw, his figures show that there were 354 000 users with 5 years’ experience in 2001; this now stands at 3.28m and will probably grow by 6% to 3.5m in 2009.
