I'm a political theorist with strong interests in sociology and see this argument as a fringe remark. Yes, there are blogs and forums with moderators that could deny the publication of comments averse to the particular view being espoused. But does this form or strongly reassert an individual's worldview or telos? If social media networks were strictly the individual's only source of communication which, I am certain, would only occur in very rare cases then most likely. But for the majority of individuals, in this world of voluminous communication Bekker's argument is a fringe remark to take into consideration. I agree with Dyson (that Bekker was overstating his point) but also would like to thank Bekker for making it as it is an interesting perspective to consider.

Cheers Matthew,

Jean-Paul Gagnon

Dear Matthew,

Thank you for posting Bekker's view.
