New Die Antwoord video features Lady Gaga parody, is cringe-worthy [Update]

The latest video from international viral sensations Die Antwoord has dropped, and it’s about the most cringe-inducing thing you’ll ever see.

The video, which is for the track “Fatty Boom Boom” features a taxi driver come tour guide taking a Lady Gaga (meat dress and all) parody around downtown Joahnnesburg.

While Yolandi, Ninja and DJ Hi-Tek do what we’ve come to expect of them — rap crude lyrics, wear vaguely offensive costumes and gyrate wildly — much of the video appears to be an attack on Lady Gaga.

The “Zef” group famously turned down an invitation to tour with the pop mega-star back in March.

Cringe-worthy as the video is, the song is ridiculously catchy. So expect to find yourself singing it out loud in the office or at home over the next few days…and hating yourself for it.

Lady Gaga took to Twitter to respond to the video:

Cringe worthy? That has to be the understatement of the century!!! I am SO embarrassed to be South African right now. What the hell is wrong with people?? You get a world stage and THIS is the message you want to give out about your country and it’s people?? It’s criminal, humiliating, disgusting, asinine, completely inaccurate CRAP and they should be ashamed of themselves. I just lost 5 minutes of my life. Epic epic fail Die Antwoord – who are the reason I change radio stations every time their revolting “music” is played. I am absolutely dumbstruck at this video. WTF!

Oh, don’t be so offended. It’s their opinion, and they are successful musicians in their own right, and already HAVE the world stage. They don’t need anyone else to help them attain that. This is their reaction to something, which is a little extreme, but it’s a PARODY. It’s not supposed to be accurate, you’re taking it far too seriously. And nobody in the world is stupid enough to think that Die Antwoord represent the entire South African people. Shouldn’t you be more embarrassed to be South African given the fact that your country has the highest rate of child/infant rape in the world ? Perhaps don’t concern yourself so much with frivolous things like what a certain band has done to express their opinion, have a little perspective.

Ok so it’s not my fav song, in fact it’s very annoying but the video was quite funny, it’s just tongue in cheek I guess, didn’t like the beastie in Lady Gaga’s….um….lady area! But the video was just a bit of fun. Found it after watchin the Lady Gaga touching herself video, perhaps not as graphic as I though it was going to be but it was here http://ladygagatouchingherselfvideo.superstarscandal.com/ if anyone interested, she really has no shyness at all at exposing her body and I’m sure she would see the funny side of her being eaten by a lion with meat suit on!

cringe-worthy indeed! I actually admire their gutsy take on this genre; but the extreme expletive language use and gratuitous sexual references that this video bang down your throat offended me enough to stop well before I was half way in.
