Running Android 4.2? Christmas is cancelled

If you’re running the latest iteration of Android, you might not get to experience Christmas this year. Well not on some apps on your smartphone at any rate.

The bug affects anyone who owns any Nexus device newer than the Galaxy Nexus. That includes Nexus 7, Nexus 4, and Nexus 10.

As The Next Web points out, this is one instance where the fragmentation Android is notorious for actually works out in its favour. The Nexus range represents a relatively small sample of devices running the Google-owned operating system meaning that few will be affected by the bug.

A fix is likely to be in the offing soon, but letting such a big cock-up get through testing is a serious no no. Come on Google, you can do better.
