Twitter rolled out a few small alterations to its interface yesterday, specifically pertaining to the way media is viewed on the social network.

According to Twitter, these tweaks make it easier to view and manage photos or videos on profile pages and in search results.

Larger photos can be viewed by clicking to the right of a profile page or in search results without having to leave the page.

With the release of Twitter’s video application Vine, the social network has expanded its list of services, which now includes videos from YouTube, Vimeo and of course Vine, which all show up in galleries with your photos. Conversation threads and replies have also been tweaked. Now, says Twitter, you view “more of the conversation related to a tweet”. In addition to being able to all the replies to a tweet, you can see all the replies to those replies.

Twitter gives an example of this by using tweets from Late Night host Jimmy Fallon, and New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof.

These minor changes will hopefully add up to make a big difference in terms of user experience on the 140-character-or-less social network.
