Arrested Development

The internet has been waiting for this moment for a long time. The first trailer for the new series of Arrested Development has surfaced online.

When it was first announced that Netflix was resurrecting the acclaimed series, there was excitement, followed by understandable apprehension. Would it be as funny? Could the cast recapture their old chemistry and would Netflix allow the show’s scriptwriters the kind of freedom they never had with the networks?

If this trailer is anything to go by, the answer is a very definite yes.

The fact that Netflix is making the entire series available at once should also be pleasing to fans of the show. Hell, even just seeing everyone together again should put a smile on the average fan’s face.

If Netflix manages to pull this off well, it could be a serious coup for the video-on-demand provider. Its other original series House of Cards was generally well-received, but Arrested Development is a proven player and the hype might just see more people switching over to Netlfix.
