Most people say Google Plus is the place to go when you want to be alone. Others say it is the platform where Google employees hangout. Google’s play into the social scene has not been received with great jubilation. Some find it hard-pressed to navigate and actually figure out what to do with it.

We have been playing on Google Plus quite a bit lately and discovered some amazing photography on platform. The platform lends itself to showcasing imagery and photographers seem to have flocked to it. Our favourite images on Google Plus are from the street photographers who tell the stories of the world’s many roads and people with their lens.

Google Plus’ street photography community defines itself as follows:

As street photography enthusiasts we are looking to see and critique work that captures moments with strong composition and aesthetics. This means sharing photos that have a human element within environment that you are in. Photos should be ones that you’ve taken yourself.

We picked some breathtaking images of African streets and life from the street photography community. The images show Africa at its best, rich in colour and life. The photographers have managed to capture the beauty in every moment: good, bad and painful.
