This low-tech instrument will send you on a brain-melting sci-fi journey

Plenty of musicians will use every piece of electronic wizardry available to them to try and blow your mind. Little do they know that all that crazy tech falls way short of what you can do with a hand-built, albeit completely bizarre-looking, instrument.

Created by Turkish musician Gorkem Sen, the Yaybahar is an electric-free, totally acoustic instrument that is capable of producing the most mind-blowing sounds.

The reason it can do that is because of its variety of components, including a fretted neck with coiled springs and two drum-like membranes.
