A new hope? Latest Star Wars trailer is what every fan was hoping for
It’s been a very long time since the world’s geeks were this excited about a single thing. The new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and it looks incredible.
There’s a dramatic monologue courtesy of Luke Skywalker, who also gets an intimate campfire scene with R2D2, Darth Vader’s helmet and, most importantly, Han Solo and Chewbukka reuniting with the Millennium Falcon.
At a special event celebrating the launch of the new trailer, director JJ Abrams and LucasFilm executive Kathleen Kennedy also revealed some details about a few of the new characters. That spherical droid from the first teaser trailer for instance is called BB8 and actually works in real life.

There’s also footage of the villain Kylo Ren, of the cross-guard lightsaber from the first trailer and a woman being handed what appears to be Luke’s first lightsaber.
Other new elements to looks out for include updated Tie Fighter and Stormtrooper designs as well as a new logo for the Empire.
