CliffCentral app lands on app stores

The CliffCentral smartphone app has launched and is available for download on iOS and Android.

The app, which launched ahead of schedule, allows listeners to listen to the online radio station live as well as browse, listen to, and download podcasts.

While listening live, you can share the fact that you’re doing so on Twitter and Facebook. And if you pause the live-stream you can pick up again where you left off.

There are a couple of features that showed up in the preview video for the app which don’t appear in the live product.

The ability to message the team, for instance, is missing. Of course, it’s possible that those features will come in later versions.

Headed by former 5fm DJ Gareth Cliff, CliffCentral launched in early 2014, with its mobile offering coming primarily through WeChat integration. The launch of a dedicated app helps it cut through the noise of having to use a third-party service to listen to the station.

CliffCentral will host a launch party in Sandton, Johannesburg on Friday 4 September.
