SABC employee gets seriously sweary after hearing about Zuma’s jet

South African news got a little too real for one SABC employee on Sunday. After finding out that the state reportedly intends to buy a R4-billion jet for president Jacob Zuma, an expletive-filled tweet was sent out from the public broadcaster’s Twitter account.

The tweet, a screengrab of which can be found below, instantly drew attention on the South African Twittersphere, with many commenting that they felt more or less the same way.

This is not the first time someone with access to a major news organisation’s Twitter account has ended up sending out a profanity-laced Tweet. Earlier this year, a News24 employee tweeted “Jesus Christ Holy Fuck” from the media house’s Twitter account in reaction to footage of an aeroplane crash in Taiwan.

Some time after the tweet was sent out, it was deleted and the public broadcaster issued an apology:
