Full specs on the device are still to come, however Engadget has released a few details — the majority of which look quite promising, including the fact that the device runs Android 4.1 (JellyBean).
Its dinner-plate-sized screen, dubbed “Super LCD 3”, is supported by a 1.5Ghz quad-core processor as well as a Snapdragon’s CPU. The J Butterfly is also equipped with a 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera. All adding up to a surprisingly light 140g, given all the J Butterfly’s features.
HTC looks set to make the J Butterfly its flagship device. It comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and LTE capabilities. All the bases seem covered.
The one area of concern for the device is its battery capacity. Listed at 2020mAh, it leaves us wondering whether or not the HTC J Butterfly can handle the day-to-day tasks without requiring more than one charge.
The J Butterfly is available in red, white and black with delivery scheduled for some time in December 2012. Name aside, HTC hopes this device can give the company the kickstart in needs.
