Wildcat is world’s fastest robot, runs into our nightmares

As if plucked directly from our nightmares, the “Wildcat” robot by Boston Dynamics is capable of speeds of up to 29 miles per hour and when it runs at you, screaming is the only option. The Wildcat used to be tethered to a cable connected to an off-board hydraulic pump (and it also used to be called the Cheetah) but now it’s wireless and ready for action. Imagine this thing mounted with laser-cannons? It’s the world’s fastest robot and is even a Guinness World Record holder, said Engadget.

It’s the sound of the buzzing petrol engine that frightens us the most. It could be used as a further scare tactic. Imagine, the enemy soldiers hear the buzzing of the Wildcat in the distance, the sound increases until it’s running straight towards you, its LED eyes glowing with death. If we hadn’t seen the video for ourselves, we’d never have believed it.

Boston Dynamics, an engineering company, has further coverage and information about the Wildcat project.
