Electronic Arts is betting big on their latest Netflix-like service with Microsoft, by offering a US$5 a month or US$30 a year service for “unlimited acess to four great EA games” via Xbox Live.

Calling the service EA Access, the plan grants subscribers keys to games like FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2 and Battlefield 4 while paying a fraction of the usual fee. Essentially, instead of purchasing one game for the price of one game, the service allows access to all games for US$5 a month. EA also promises more titles as the months roll on.
Additionally, the titles subscribers do actually have to buy will set them back 10% less. Some of the new titles included are the upcoming Dragon Age Inquisition and NHL 15. EA Access also allows 10% off on membership services to Battlefield 4 Premium and FIFA Ultimate Team.
Avid gamers will also have access to trials of upcoming titles “up to five days before the release date.” EA notes that “if you decide to buy the game, your progress will carry over so you can pick up right where you left off,” making the trial option a great way to stave the new-game hunger.
Although EA fails to announce a launch date, the company notes that it will soon be available to U.S., Canadian and European audiences. The rest of the world will need to wait a little longer.
