Pinnacle Africa has launched its first dual SIM LTE smartphone dubbed the Proline XM-502, which boasts a bevy of impressive specs for a R1699 device.
The most important feature, at least where Pinnacle is concerned, is the dual SIM slots, both with 150Mbps LTE support.

“We partnered with MediaTek to launch the first commercially available smartphone based on their new 64-bit LTE platform, delivering performance that has never been seen before in a sub-R2,000 smartphone,” noted Max Stone, brand director at Pinnacle Africa.
“LTE is fast becoming the standard on mobile phones.”
And he’s largely correct. There’s also a quad-core MediaTek MT6735M CPU with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. There’s a microSD card slot available as well if you fancy some a larger storage reserve. And speaking of reserves, there’s a 2000mAh battery available as well.
All this is hidden behind a 5.0-inch screen with an array of 960×540 pixels. The phone itself is just under 8mm thick.
On the imaging front, there’s a 13MP rear snapper while a 5MP at the front takes care of selfies.
“With the runaway pricing of many brands, the Proline XM-502 offers an alternative that delivers the highest performance-to-price ratio on the market,” concluded Stone.
The phone, at the time of writing, is available to pre-order on Takealot and comes bundled with an Adata powerbank. The phone will be available officially 7 August.
