Next year is a big one for the South African smartphone consumer. Motorola‘s return to the market seems more likely than ever, we’re receiving Apple products much earlier than in previous years, and speaking of Apple, Xiaomi‘s making its long awaited bow.
Although the company’s practically here already, we’ve been promised some great gear and gadgets coming in early 2016 alongside the likes of the Xiaomi Mi 4 smartphone flagship and the cheaper and cheerful Redmi 2.

Left and Right demarcations inside the ear cups are quite innovative.

It will retail for around R2000-R2500.

The camera dominates the back of the phone, with the flash sitting just beneath.
Xiaomi Products Gallery 2016 024
The back really feels like the front of an iPhone 6 (if that makes any sense).
Xiaomi Products Gallery 2016 025
There's a grate speaker at the phone's bottom, with the charging and data port alongside.

The box, as you can see, is all natural.

I really love Xiaomi's simple, minimalist branding.
