DOOM is a fever dream of bullets and gore, according to latest footage

We all knew that Bethesda‘s reinvention of the iconic Doom franchise was going to be bloodier and quicker than previous titles, but my, this is a bit crazy.

While the objective is clear (find things that aren’t human, and kill them), the game does look particularly fun, if darting down corridors, jumping on platforms and mowing down everything that moves is your idea of fun.

The same sequence was filmed during Nvidia‘s demo of the GTX 1080 which it launched earlier this week using the OpenGL successor Vulcan API.

But it should be noted that the footage below is actually courtesy of the Titan X and is capped at 60fps. When Nvidia let the 1080 have at the game, and unlocked the sync rate between monitor and graphics card, the 1080 achieved frame rates into the high 190s.

In terms of polish for us normal graphics card users though, it’s a really good looking title. But be the judge of that yourself.

Have a look at the title’s latest six minutes below.
