While Huawei South Africa is still being coy regarding pricing for the newly launched P20 series, local smartphone retailer Cellucity spilled the beans for them last night.

And those beans are priced extremely competitively.

In a tweet, the retailer detailed that the Huawei P20 Lite will retail for R5499 (including free wireless earphones). But more notable is the P20 and P20 Pro’s pricing.

The standard Huawei P20 — with two cameras and a 5.8-inch LCD screen — will retail for R11499. That slots it in the midst of previous generation flagships, including the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the iPhone 7 series.

The company’s hype man, the Huawei P20 Pro — with three cameras at the back and a 6.1-inch notched AMOLED screen — will cost R15799. That’s some R2000 cheaper than the Huawei Mate 10’s launch price.

The retailer will bundle both devices with free shades. To, uh, look cool with your new phone? We guess?

There’s no word on the pricing for the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS, but expect a number closer to Huawei’s Mate 10 Porsche Design (i.e. in the region of a small country’s GDP.)

The Huawei P20 will launch on 5 April 2018 in South Africa.
