So here’s what each of the five LG V40 ThinQ’s cameras can do

With five cameras, the LG V40 ThinQ is set to be a smartphone photographer’s pocket knife heading into the latter stages of 2018. But what do each of the cameras do?

According to a leak from Evan Blass, we now have a fairly good idea.

For one, one of the V40’s rear camera will be the standard, everyday lens. The other two will tackle telephoto zoom and wide-angle duties. We’ve seen LG use wide-angle lenses before, most notably on the LG G5.

As for the remaining two cameras up front, one selfie camera is also set to get the wide-angle treatment while the other is just your run-of-the-mill point, smile, and shoot variant.

Camera hardware, however, still remains unconfirmed.

Reports suggest the standard snapper at the rear will have a 16MP sensor and a wide aperture of f/1.5. But we’ll just have to wait and see.

Although the LG V40 ThinQ is all but confirmed, more details will be announced at the company’s proper launch on 3 October.
