Memeburn decided to look back at the moments that contributed to the greatness that was Steve Jobs.

If ever there was anyone who doubted that Jobs was one of the “greatest innovators,” as US President Barack Obama described Jobs in his tribute to him, they should watch this video of Jobs describing what we now know as cloud computing, in 1997:

“Stay hungry. Stay foolish.” This short sharp statement, first heard from Jobs when he gave the Stanford commencement address in 2005, and is already an iconic credo. The incredibly inspirational and moving speech gives us a clear insight into who the man was:

In different but equally undeniable ways, Jobs and Microsoft founder Bill Gates changed the world. As Gates put it in a statement following Jobs’ passing, “The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come.”

Here’s a rare co-appearance by the two tech-titans in 2007 where they discuss their contributions to the technology industry and the qualities they most respect in one another:

Jobs was not only a visionary in building hardware and software, he understood the importance of marketing and branding. In this speech he distils what Apple’s marketing vision was, years before Apple became the global iconic brand it is today:

The original version of the ad, featuring Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Einstein and other luminaries of the 20th century that was aired as a result of the marketing vision Jobs explained in the previous speech was narrated by Richard Dreyfus. Another version, narrated by Jobs, was shot but never aired, this is it:

A fan made a version of that same ad, quite fittingly, this time featuring Steve Jobs:

As the advertisement says, “while some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius”.
