So you think Instagram video’s pretty cool, but what about all those awesome video clips you have saved on your phone? Well now those are sorted too.

The Facebook-owned service announced via a blog post that its latest update will allow people to upload videos from their library.

Once you select the video clip you’d like to import, you can trim it down to the exact part you like best. Instagram’s also made it so that you can choose how you square-crop your clip.

Among the other features set to roll out with the update is Automatic Straightening for iOS, which allows you to correct an off-centre horizon on a photo you’ve already captured. When you take a photo with the in-app camera, you can now tap the new Straighten icon and your photo will apparently correct to be level. The straightening tool also includes a slider so you can rotate and adjust any photo– including ones imported from your photo library—as much or as little as you’d like.

On the Android side, Ice Cream Sandwich users are finally getting Instagram Video too. “Since the launch of Video on Instagram this has been the Android community’s number-one request, and we’re excited to see this community grow,” the company says.
