Fancy some Jack Daniel’s merch? You can now get it on Facebook

Even if you’ve never touched a drop of whiskey in your life, chances are you at least know what Jack Daniel’s is, thanks to its iconic branding and association with rock stars like Janis Joplin. Until now though, if you wanted some of the company’s merchandising then you had to make a trip to its head quarters in Lynchburg Tennessee.

Jack Daniels has just announced its own online store for South Africa. Located on the South Africa Jack Daniel’s Facebook page, the retail store — called The Jack Daniel’s Hardware Store — is apparently the first of its kind within the country’s liquor market.

The store sports a range of branded men’s and women’s fashion clothing and other specialty items, such as custom-built jukeboxes.

Marketing Manager for Jack Daniel’s South Africa, Dino D’Araujo says the online store is the answer to the countless fans who’ve wanted to buy genuine JD-branded merchandise, “The store provides a great range of high-end clothing and memorabilia, catering for both casual shoppers looking for interesting gifting ideas, as well as the serious Jack collector”.

He adds, “JD merchandise seems to have acquired a cult like status with our fans and we’re excited to finally be offering items previously unattainable. We also plan to add a whiskey collection in the near future, which will enable our customers to purchase rare Jack Daniel’s bottles and gift packs.”

The company will be hoping that it can leverage its 80 000 Facebook fans to sell the merchandise.
