Fassbender appears to channel inner psycho in new ‘Steve Jobs’ trailer

Universal Pictures has released the latest trailer for its Steve Jobs movie, starring Michael Fassbender and written by Aaron Sorkin. And by the looks of things, the former has no intention of glossing over Jobs’ negative traits.

The film, set to launch in theaters on 9 October, is based on Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography and follows three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac.

Despite having the most authoritative source material, the Danny Boyle vehicle has been the Steve Jobs biopic beset with the most problems.

Among those has been nailing down a leading man, with Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio both slated to take on the role at one stage. Prior to Boyle coming onboard as director, David Fincher was attached to the film.

This trailer is significantly longer than the first one Universal Pictures released in May and gives us a much clearer idea of how Fassbender plays Jobs.

Jobs devotees may be a little disappointed at the brutal honesty in the portrayal. Rather than concentrating on the smiling innovator presenting the latest innovations at Apple keynotes, so familiar to the public, Fassbender focuses on the tyrannical perfectionist behind the scenes.

Still, we don’t think it’ll hold a candle to Funny or Die’s iSteve.
