It’s only gone and done it. After its global re-release, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame has finally surpassed Avatar as the biggest movie of all…
Stranger Things 3, which hit Netflix just under a week ago, has already racked up over 40 million views according to the streaming service.
“40.7 million household accounts have been watching the show since its July 4 global launch — more than any other film or series in its first four days,” Netflix revealed in a tweet on Tuesday morning.

Despite less than half of those accounts finishing the season, Stranger Things 3 has had quite the emotional impact on fans.

Though Netflix doesn’t usually release viewing stats, it tends to show off its greatest hits from time to time.
Last year, the company similarly tweeted about Bird Box when over 45 million accounts watched the movie in its first week.
If you’re keen to see what all the fuss is about, the third season of Stranger Things is currently available to stream on Netflix.
