Publishing process checklist

Process is important. Without it we’d exist in complete chaos. With that in mind here are the processes you absolutely must follow when publishing an article on one of the Burn suite of websites:

Before editing

  • Check that all the copy is in
  • Are the images 650 width by 350 height?
  • Have you added tags? Make sure the tags are pertinent to the region (country tags) you’re writing about
  • Is the story in the correct category?
  • Have you chosen the correct author?
  • Is everything linked?
  • Have you chosen related articles?
  • Have you used the proofread button?
  • Read the piece again

Before Publishing

  • Is the headline correct?
  • Have you previewed the piece?
  • Have you double-checked the image?
  • Does the story read well?
  • Check that there’s a mobile featured image
  • Check the ‘Don’t show Twitter Buzz box’
  • Recheck everything!

After publishing

  • Read through the article again, and again, and again.
  • Share across all your social networks
  • If it’s a big story, email it to all the contributors and advertisers.
  • Also send an email to the whole staff asking them to share across their social networks
  • Tip @Techmememe and LinkedInToday
