Samsung Galaxy S Advance revealed

A Philippine tech website has revealed details on the latest model in Samsung’s popular Galaxy range, the Samsung Galaxy S Advance or GT-I9070.

The Samsung Galaxy S Advance is reportedly meant to launch first in China, but has somehow managed to make its way to the Philippines. The site managed to get its hand on the GT-I9070, revealing its hardware and software secrets.

Smaller than the Galaxy S II

The Galaxy S Advance is smaller than the Galaxy S II, with a screen size of four inches. The S II measures 4.3-inches, though both come with a 480×800 display. The S Advance has a front-facing camera for video calling, and the same physical Home key layout of the S II, hugged on both sides by the capacitive Back and Menu keys.

The rear cover is plastic, and the phone’s display is slightly curved, much like the Galaxy Nexus’. Flipping the phone around reveals a 5MP camera with LED flash, a downgrade from the 8MP monster on the S II.

Tasty Gingerbread

The S Advance rocks the Gingerbread build of Android (version 2.3.6). When the site ran internal benchmarks on the phone, it was discovered that the S Advance uses a dual-core ARMv7 CPU, this includes a Mali-400 GPU.

The site put together a preview video of the Galaxy S Advance, which is yet to be priced.

Also included is a video which displays the graphical power of the S Advance.
