5 essential iOS travel apps

Usually based on a lack of organisation, stress free holidays are hard to come by. But no more. Delve into these travelling apps and get your off-time started right.

KAYAK Mobile – Free

The amount of times I’ve just pitched up in a random city with no place to stay has been plentiful. It’s quite a strenuous experience, although very exciting too. With KAYAK though, you can search for hotels and flights, and even book them straight from your phone. That’s convenient.

Wi-Fi Finder – Free

Need internet badly? With this sweet app you can scour your city for Wi-Fi networks to acquire your precious internet resource. Choose between paid and free (who wouldn’t choose free) and away you go. It’ll even direct you where to go; how nice. So, as long as you have GPS, you can find the internet.

Google Translate – Free

Ever had the need to swear at people in another language? Hell, happens all the time. I’ve never not had a need, in fact. Google Translate to the rescue! It not only translates written words, but you can speak into it and — depending the language — it will vocalise the translation. So if you speak monotone computer talk, you will be able to understand it. Otherwise, just guess, like everyone else.

Agenda Calendar – US$0.99

If you are well organised to the point of obsession when you travel (and most likely at any other time of your life) look no further. Easier to use than iCal and with less clutter, Agenda breathes new life in to your obsession. Never miss a meeting again, or a plane. Build itineraries for your days in Paris that your normal travel companions will loath you for. All in the name of efficiency, I say.

Find Chocolate – Free

I’m stunned and not very surprised at the same time. There are millions of chocolate fiends out there; me being one of them, and this app is for us! Never again be deprived of your precious precious cocoa. It uses your current location to locate all the delicious chocolateries around you and directs you towards your love. I couldn’t ask for more.
