iTunes games now officially available for South Africa… finally
Apple has started rolling out games for iTunes South Africa. Yup, it’s about time. As a company spokesperson told MyBroadband yesterday, the roll-out is officially underway.
The pricing of most games is also well thought out. Angry Birds, for instance, costs R8.00 via South African iTunes. That’s a few rand cheaper than if you got it through the US or UK iTunes. Score!
Some users experienced errors when trying to access the “Games” section, although the link seems to be working fine now. Initially certain users weren’t directed to the local store when searching for titles on their devices.
It will probably take some time before most users start migrating to their local iTunes store as they’ll still enjoy other media treats via workarounds such as using iTunes vouchers and such.

Apple launched iTunes’ music service last year in South Africa when it expanded its service to 56 new markets.
Hopefully we’ll soon see other international media distributors follow suit as iTunes rival Google Play still doesn’t allow its ebook, movie and music services in South Africa.
