Loadshedding is a reality that doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. These UPS towers, or uninterruptible power supplies, are among the best-rated in South Africa and are key if you need to keep your tech running during power outages.

Taking a look at reviews from users on Takealot, we’ve listed the best-rated units locally. Many of these units come in different VA capacities. We’ve included the best-rated device for each brand, but feel free to explore different capacities of the same product.

Note: We’re using Takealot’s user reviews because of the sheer number of reviews on the site for these units. We looked at devices with high ratings and 15 or more reviews. We have however listed prices and availability info from a number of other online stores.

Additionally, we’ve not reviewed any of these UPSs. This piece merely serves as a guide.

Before actually buying a UPS, we recommend reading our guide on what to look for when you buy a UPS so that you understand the jargon and technicalities and don’t splurge on a system you don’t need.
