Rolls Royce’s new Ghost: peasants will grovel before it [gallery]

If you’ve just come into a small fortune and are looking for something that says “I’ve got money, but I’m not a complete and utter yobbo”, then you might want to have a look at the series II Rolls Royce Ghost.

Unveiled today at the Geneva Motor Show, the new Ghost is apparently aimed at “Captains of Industry, entrepreneurs and successful business men and women who are the wealth and job creators in our economies”.

According to Rolls Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös meanwhile, the car is the “ultimate entrepreneur’s business tool”. We guess he’s not talking about the guy building a startup in his mom’s garage then.

On the outside, the new Ghost has been fitted with re-sculpted headlights and bumpers (apparently in a bid to create a stronger stance), a tapered ‘wake channel’ on the bonnet and a couple of extra chrome inserts.

Inside, there are a load of LED lights, a one-touch call button or the Spirit of Ecstasy Rotary Controller, on-board Wi-Fi facilitates email, file sharing, telephony and video-conferencing. Oh, and if you’re the kind of business tycoon who absolutely has to have their finger on the pulse, then you can also watch televised business news in order to “remain ahead of the game”.

Navigation meanwhile is apparently as simple as pushing a button and calling out your destination to the car. Just make sure your driver (let’s be honest, they’ll be doing the navigating not you) can enunciate very clearly.

Also, maybe try and disable the light beneath the Spirit of Ecstasy on the bonnet, otherwise you really will look like a yobbo.
