‘Old Spin Guy’ makes his first video response to 5FM DJ @GarethCliff

Old Spin Guy, the ZANews puppet of President Jacob Zuma, posted his first video response online to 5FM’s controversial morning DJ Gareth Cliff early on Friday morning. Pulling no punches, the President starts off by calling Cliff “@poster boy, white-supremacist” before launching into his tongue-in-cheek character assassination.

Social media seems to be the designated playground for political commentary in this day and age, as the release of ZANews latest video coincides with #Jujufriday, an extended day-long attack by Twitter users on ANC Youth League president, Julius Malema.

The satire by ZANews follows in the footsteps of the world-famous Old Spice campaign, and will see Old Spin Guy releasing one video response every day, Tuesday to Friday to people who send him their tweets and comments on #oldspinguy, or to @zanews.

Here’s the full video response to @GarethCliff:

And here’s the original video that began the campaign earlier this week.

So if you’re enjoying the campaign, and you want it to keep going, then keep sending your questions and comments via Twitter to @zanews.
