Life in a Day is a historic global film experiment that enlisted the global community to capture a moment of their lives on one particular day, Saturday, July 24, and to upload that footage to YouTube. Over 80 000 entries were received, representing 197 countries and 45 languages.

Following the live stream, viewers will be able to watch the Sundance Film Festival director, John Cooper, moderate a global Q&A with Kevin MacDonald (the director) and the 26 filmmakers who contributed videos to ‘Life in a Day’.

If you are unable to tune in early in the morning, the film will be re-broadcast on the Lifeinaday channel on 28 January at 7:00PM (GMT +2), and subtitled in 25 languages.

Life in a Day is one of several efforts by YouTube to push the boundaries of music, art, and now film. YouTube Symphony Orchestra and the recently announced YouTube Play partnership with the Guggenheim are examples of the convergence of online video with traditional arts and Life in a Day takes this effort into the cinematic realm.
