Prezi is an alternative presentation tool to Microsoft’s Powerpoint, allowing users to pan and zoom in and out of their presentations, rather than the linear slide approach of most popular presentation platforms. It’s won fans from around the world because of its unique approach to creating presentations.

The iPad app allows users to show and interact with past Prezi creations. Users will only be able to play their Prezi’s, not edit them via the iPad. Editing would take place via Prezi’s web-based application or the downloadable offline application.

The release was highly-anticipated because the Prezi platform is an ideal match for the iPad’s multi-touch functionality which allows for pinching and panning.

According to US blog Techcrunch, the startup has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from TED Conferences and Sunstone Capital, and counts Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey among its advisors.

Techcrunch says the company has attracted more than 1.85 million registered users since its launch in April 2009.
