Hacker group Anonymous, has taken down yet another governmental site in its declared war against global injustice.

The group has removed the Syrian Ministry of Defence website and posted, in its place, a series of videos, images, and a message demanding the removal of current president, Bashar Al-Assad.
The message, which is printed in both Arabic and English says:
“To the Syrian people: The world stands with you against the brutal regime of Bashar Al-Assad. Know that time and history are on your side – tyrants use violence because they have nothing else, and the more violent they are, the more fragile they become. We salute your determination to be non-violent in the face of the regime’s brutality, and admire your willingness to pursue justice, not mere revenge. All tyrants will fall, and thanks to your bravery Bashar Al-Assad is next.
To the Syrian military: You are responsible for protecting the Syrian people, and anyone who orders you to kill women, children, and the elderly deserves to be tried for treason. No outside enemy could do as much damage to Syria as Bashar Al-Assad has done. Defend your country – rise up against the regime! – Anonymous.”
The offical website is offline, but a mirror of the Anonymous-created website has been created. On the very top of the hacked website, there is a link to various YouTube videos with titles like ‘Bodies of civilians who refused to fire on civilians’, ‘Security fires at crowd of civilians’ and ‘Protester shot in head, Damascus’. Since the protest of Assad’s government began over four months ago, an estimated 2 000+ civilian deaths have occurred.
The attack on the Syrian government is latest of many in the previous months by the “hacktivist” group.
Previous targets have included the government of Iran, Paypal, the “global banking cartel“, the Colombian Presidency, to give three examples.
There has, however, been a recent international crackdown by law-enforcement agencies against groups such as Anonymous, resulting in the arrest of a number of alleged operatives and leaders.
