Apple fans, mark down 4 October on your calendars as this is the day that Apple will most likely reveal the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5 is not the only hot item on show at the company showcase. This will be new CEO Tim Cook’s initial introduction where he will be giving a presentation to the Apple-hungry public.
Sources have said that the iPhone 5 will definitely be the first product Cook has the honour of announcing. As Steve Job’s successor, the job falls to him. No other key Apple executive has been considered or announced for the position of head speaker.
Analysts from Ticonderoga Securities have said that the news of the event rings true with their predictions and that an official launch would follow after the Apple media announcement.
This morning, AllThingsD reported that sources are confirming that Apple will hold a media event on October 4 to unveil the iPhone 5, which is in line with our thoughts for an October rollout. This will clearly be a crucial event for Apple with Tim Cook in control as CEO for the first time ever for a new product launch.
Keep in mind, Apple held a media event for the iPad 2 on March 2 with a launch date of March 11 this year, while the iPhone 4 was unveiled at media event on June 7 last year and launched on June 24. In our view, Apple should launch iPhone 5 with less lag time after the media event versus iPhone 4 given the later than typical unveiling.
