Twenty-one of the most renowned social media marketing professionals from around the globe will gather to honour the best social media marketing has to offer at the third edition of the Bees Awards in San Francisco.
The Award organisers claim that the jury was handpicked “on the base of their expertise, the references they received from peers, their passion for social media and their geographic location.”

Entries will be judged according to 26 categories ranging from best “Best use of Micro-Blogging Platform” to “Best Branded Viral Video” and “Best Social Media Marketing Theory”.
Four of the categories are new, recognising a range of new developments in the world of social, such as the convergence with search, the rise of apps and Geo-location:
- Best Convergence SEO/SEM with Social Media
- Best use of Geo-Location for Social Media Marketing
- Best use of App for Social Media Marketing
- Best Tool or Technology for Social Media Marketing
In its first iteration in 2010, the Bees received entries from 21 countries across five continents.
The awards take their name and inspiration from bees, who they say have “developed a well coded communication system to make their collective intelligence greater than each individual’s one”.
“Like bees”, the awards organisers “social media is all about collective communication which calls for a new marketing expertise. The Bees Awards reward this new expertise”.
