Facebook has been has been big on apps for a little while now. It’s a little surprising therefore that it’s taken it so long to announce an App Centre.
There’s not much differentiating Facebook’s centre from the kind of app stores we’ve become used to courtesy of Google and Apple.

The social network claims the App Centre “gives developers an additional way to grow their apps and creates opportunities for more types of apps to be successful”.
It also claims that the centre can help users find apps, because “everything has an app detail page, which helps people see what makes an app unique and lets them install it before going to an app”.
If your app is listed in the App Centre, Facebook says you can also get an indication of how well it’s doing on the store.
Making it onto the centre also depends on how much people like your app:” Well-designed apps that people enjoy will be prominently displayed. Apps that receive poor user ratings or don’t meet the quality guidelines won’t be listed”.
Facebook app developers are also required to fill out an app detail page if they want to be listed. According to the social network:
You can create an app detail page in the App Center section of the Developer App. There you can upload images, provide additional details, and configure the permissions your app requires. Learn more about setting up your app.
The App Centre will also be available on iOS and Android devices.
