Look, as much as we’d like to pretend that Star Wars is still a geeky niche franchise, it’s become a cultural phenomenon. Nonetheless, there are still a whole host of geeky things related to the space epic. One of those is deeming 4 May “Star Wars Day” (if you don’t understand it, you’re not a real fan).
In celebration of Luke, Yoda, and Darth, we decided to grab some of our favourite tweets:

Death Star PR can always be counted on for wit:
If you’re not celebrating #StarWarsDay by Force choking people and exploding planets, you’re doing it wrong! #MayTheFourth be with you!

Puns abounded:
A young Jedi Knight once asked me how to make a bacon sandwich taste better. I said use the sauce Luke #maythefourth Happy Star Wars Day!

#MayTheFourth relationship I have actually work.

— Meeky Mcgraw (@Hayleigh1982) May 4, 2012
I’d be a Sith before a Jedi purely because of how many times a day I try to kill people with my mind despite having no powers. #MayTheFourth

A very happy #MayTheFourth to all the fanboys and fangirls making the Kessel Run with us today!

If you don’t get this one, you haven’t seen the films:
I’d give my right hand to be a jedi #maythefourth
— Jeremy Hammett (@jeremylalala) May 4, 2012
Some were a little rougher than others:
Wookiee poo is the famously stinky, so every morning on The Falcon, Han shat first… #MayTheFourth
— Ju Power (@JulianRWPower) May 4, 2012
It wouldn’t be Star Wars Day without sharing some wisdom from Yoda:
It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we can all learn things from the little green guy. “Do or do not. There is no try.” #MayTheFourth
— Pete J Jones (@PeteJJones) May 4, 2012
Of course, someone had to take a dig at The Phantom Menace:
Jake Lloyd says Phantom Menace ruined his life. That doesn’t make you special Jake, it did that to everyone. #MayTheFourth
