People in America and around the world will spend today remembering where they were today 11 years ago. Memorials have gone up across social networks, with some people remembering individuals, others the 2 997 people killed in the attacks.
For many however, Twitter was the focal point. “Remember911” and “11 de Setembro” bot trended globally on the social network.

Most of the tweets were sincere in their remembrance of the event:
