Anti-virus pioneer and murder suspect John McAfee has been captured…or he’s still on the run. It depends which news source you believe really.

McAfee is the lead suspect in the murder of his neighbour Gregory Faull. The American retiree was found floating in his pool with a gun shot wound to the back of his head.
The software billionaire has since been on the run, claiming to have hidden in sand with a box over his head while police searched his property on the island of Ambergris Caye off the coast of Belize. At the time he said there was absolutely no chance he would leave Belize.
McAfee’s own blog (managed by someone in the US) released a post stating that the software billionaire had been picked up trying to cross the border into Mexico:
Late on Friday, November 30, 2012 after a series of short media interviews we lost contact with Mr. John McAfee. Soon after losing contact with Mr. McAfee we received a voicemail from an anonymous caller ID. In the message the gentleman stated, “John was picked up crossing the Mexican border.”
We have not received word back from this individual (he did not leave a phone number or additional details), nor have we received word from McAfee himself. As such, we cannot confirm 100 percent that the message we received is accurate or deny it. The only thing we can confirm is that we have not been able to make contact with Mr. McAfee and that he has not communicated with Mr Chad Essley.
According to PC Magazine however, a number of people on the ground in Belize say that authorities have yet to pick up McAfee. Silicon Beat meanwhile reports that police are still conducting door-to-door-searches for the billionaire, who has adopted a number of elaborate disguises in his bid to avoid capture.
Police claim that they only want to question McAfee in relation to Faull’s murder. The Canadian-born billionaire however believes that police will torture and kill him if he is captured.
