If you’re anything like us, you’ve read Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series multiple times. You know that the answer to life, the universe and everything is 42 and why a towel is the most important object you can own. And you cracked a smile at today’s Google doodle.
No ad to show here.
The doodle is a celebration of what would have been Adams’ 61st birthday. Set on a spaceship (presumably the Heart of Gold), it features some of the most important objects from the Hitchhiker’s canon, including a towel, a cup of tea and, of course, the eponymous guide.
Click on the guide and you’ll be shown entries on the Babel Fish and the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster among other things.
Scroll over to the elevator meanwhile and you’ll see Marvin, the paranoid Android. So prepare to geek out to your heart’s content.
