New Facebook Home ad: grandma’s boring, stare at your phone instead

Facebook Home ad 3

Facebook seems to be taking a machine gun kind of approach to the advertising for Facebook Home. First there was that weird ad with the half naked dudes and drag queens. Then there was the one of the Facebook employee completely ignoring Mark Zuckerberg and now Facebook wants you to know how useful Home is for ignoring your family around the dinner table.

The ad features a large family in a dining room apparently stuck in the 1970s. Conversation meanwhile is dominated by a cat-obsessed matronly figure who appears to be the protagonist’s grandmother. Unlike everyone else at the table, the protagonist can escape the dull torture of family life because she has Home installed on her Android smartphone. This allows her to escape into her own world of drummers, ballerinas and indoor snow fights.

If any of your relatives imagine that this kind of stuff is really happening to them after they install Facebook Home however, we suggest you find them medical assistance.
