Check out RMB’s nifty new grad recruitment tool

RMB equation 1

This is pretty cool. This year, instead of just touring university campuses, South African financial giant Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) is taking a digital approach to attracting talent.

It’s launched a microsite that encourages graduates to create their own equations that symbolise their career goals. The equation is then shared through their Facebook or Twitter account. This approach, RMB says, helps identify scholars that have a creative mind over and above their analytical and financial skills.

Using the site, the company reckons it will be able to get the “most creative, innovate minds” applying to its grad programme.

In the physical world meanwhile, stands will be set up at campuses across the country allowing students to demonstrate how they can be a part of the equation. The pictures will be in the form of magnets, allowing students to piece together an equation that presents their career aspirations.

The top submissions will stand a chance to win a lunch with five of RMB’s top thought leaders at the institution’s Johannesburg head offices.

We had a go at making our own equation, but we’re not so sure RMB will be knocking on our door any time soon:
