The interactive doodle comes in the shape of a mini game that sees you playing as second “g” in the Google logo. Your goal? Simple: hit the swinging piñata and collect as many sweets as possible with 10 swipes of the stick.
Doodles have been an important part of Google’s culture from the very early days with the first in honor of the Burning Man Festival of 1998. The doodle was designed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin to notify users of their absence in case the servers crashed.
The company now has a dedicated team of doodlers and engineers to design and integrate the doodles into Google’s home page, with input coming from people all over the company as well as the wider public.
