The days when having an innovative advertising campaign meant sending a load of bloggers your product or inviting them to a snazzy event are long gone. Now, if you want to grab people’s attention, you have to do something a little bit special.

We reckon the latest campaign from Mnet Movies (part of the Naspers-owned DStv satellite bouquet), could well have the latter qualities.
The channel asked people how a superhero could brighten up their day by getting bloggers from each city to post about how a superhero could help them.
There were apparently some interesting requests that ranged from Batman cooling down cyclists to The Hulk helping people park on Cape Town’s Long Street and lot of requests to help out the less fortunate children out there. By tracking these tweets, the channel figured out what South Africans wanted superheroes to do for them.
This is how the superheroes arrived in three of South Africa’s biggest cities.
The campaign was in support of the channel’s Superhero Month, which will be taking place throughout October.
