One Young World, a youth summit that includes delegates from 190 countries around the globe, claims to have built a world first in the shape of a debate platform that brings together conversation from Facebook, Twitter, Mxit and SMS.

According to the summit, this is the first time that these channels have been combined into one platform, something which it believes will allow for conversation across a multitude of countries, devices, channels and levels of internet access.
By bringing together these various channels, the summit — currently taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa — hopes to allow delegates and any interested person to talk together about the various issues at the centre of One Young World — education, sustainable development, youth unemployment and so on.
Conversation streams meanwhile have been created with hashtags appropriate to the topics being discussed.
