There is selfie madness happening and it seems everyone will soon jump on the band wagon. Turkish Airlines is hoping to be a trendsetter with its “selfie shootout” campaign featuring basketball legend Kobe Bryant and football superstar Lionel Messi.

Hitting 12.9-million views in two days, the campaign sees the sport stars in an “epic face-off for selfie supremacy. Armed with cameras and Turkish Airlines”. The point of the campaign is obviously not the selfies, pity, but to showcase the various locations that the carrier flies to. According to the airline, it apparently flies to “more countries than any other” and proves it by asking the superstars to “show up and show off across the globe”.
This is not the first time the duo has teamed up for a Turkish Airlines campaign either. Using the tag #KOBEVSMESSI, the airline has created commercials that see both stars trotting the globe trying to best each other.
The video is quite fun, especially Kobe attempting to smile with a lion licking his face and Messi getting photobombed.
