The most fascinating automotive gadgets and gizmos tend to start their lives in the lavishly equipped cabins of full-fat luxury sedans. And thanks to the fact that even a glimpse of the price-tag attached to such a vehicle carries with it the risk of congestive heart failure, ordinary folk are forced to make do with wind-up windows, manually adjustable side-mirrors and a distinct lack of seatbelts.
