Given that the biopic space in the past couple of years has been dominated by politicians, musicians and historical figures, it’s pretty awesome to see the heroes of science getting their turn. First there was the Alan Turing film we wrote about a little while back and now Stephen Hawking is getting his turn.

The film, titled The Theory of Everything, follows Hawking through his days at Cambridge and the early stages of his crippling muscular neuron disease. While it does cover his groundbreaking work in cosmology, it also seems to dedicate a lot of time to the love story between Hawking and his wife Jane. Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones take the lead roles.
This first trailer rushes across the movie, but it looks pretty powerful and should be a strong contender come awards season.
