If you’re in South Africa, you’ve got a couple of options when it comes to getting your hands on Google Glass: you could order a pair from leading ecommerce outlet Takealot, as long as you’ve got R27 000 to burn, or you could spend the next month downloading as much as humanly possible.

In what has to be one of the crazier competitions we’ve ever heard of, South African internet service provider Web Africa is giving anyone who downloads more than 50Gb in September the chance to win a pair of Glass. The catch is, the data has to be downloaded between midnight and 6am.
Oh, and the more you download, the more entries you get into the draw:
- Usage of between 50GB and 99.99GBs earns you 1 entry into the draw.
- Usage of between 100GB and 499.99GBs earns you 2 entries into the draw.
- Usage of between 500GB and 999.99GBs earns you 3 entries into the draw.
- Usage of 1TB or more earns you 4 entries into the draw
In order to get as many people as possible participating in the competition, Web Africa has given everyone with a capped account (excluding the free 2GB) unlimited gigs of Download Plus for September with the same deal being offered to anyone who signs up in September.
This isn’t the first such competition Web Africa’s run. In August, it gave a way a Macbook Air to its top downloader. Throughout the month, 186 298 gigs of download plus downloaded throughout the month.
